Timothy R. Collins, D.D.S.
Dr. Collins is a native Texan and grew up on a ranch in central Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in psychology. He then attended the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston where he received his D.D.S. degree, graduating number two in his class in 2005. He was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society. He completed a two year Orthodontics residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas in 2010 while serving in the U.S. Army. Dr. Collins is a Board Certified Orthodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, which is a distinction only held by an elite tier of orthodontists.
During dental school, Dr. Collins served for four years in the U.S. Army Reserves. After dental school, Dr. Collins served for eight years on active duty in the U.S. Army as a dentist and orthodontist. His duty assignments included Ft. Carson, Colorado; Ft. Sam Houston, Texas; and Ft. Gordon, Georgia. During his time in the Army, he received numerous awards, including two Army commendation medals. After his Army service, he practiced as an orthodontist in Dallas for three years.
Dr. Collins is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Board of Orthodontics, the Southwest Society of Orthodontists, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Collins was active in Boy Scouts and received many awards, including the God and Country Award and attained the rank of Eagle Scout by the 9th grade. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, watching college sports and attending games, spending time with his wife and two sons, going to the movies, finding great restaurants, and he loves all kinds of cars. He treats his patients like family and wants them to have a truly great and fun experience while having braces.
